Ladies Sodality

The Ladies of the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality are a group of women who show devotion to, and a great love for our Our Lady, in communion as Sisters in Christ.  Through our mission statement "to enrich parish life through devotion to our Blessed Mother, provided opportunities to serve others, foster friendship and fellowship among the women of our parish."

Membership is open to all Catholic women over the age of 15 who belong to Christ the King parish.  During monthly meetings, we pray the rosary, hear from guest speakers, plan events, and last but not least, we always take time to socialize with one another.

Sodality also sponsors a plethora of events to support our church community!  Some of these events include:

• Sodality Sundays (Year round, first Sunday of the month, 11 am Mass at CTK)
• Yearly May Procession (1st Tuesday of May, at CTK Hall processing to the statue of the Blessed Mother in CTK, while we sing songs of Mary, filling her cover with flowers and crowning her Queen Mary)
• Parish Wide Communion Breakfast
• Rosary Recitation as a group - at the funeral home for each deceased Sodalisty,   Provide a supportive and prayerful presence at the deceased Sodalist's funeral including flanking the aisle and holding candles as the funeral recesses.
• Annual Day Retreat for Women held in September
• Annual Living Rosary (1st Tuesday in October, sponsored by Sodality to provide a parish opportunity to celebrate the Month of the Holy Rosary, led (for the past five decades) by Mr. Joe Pfeiffer of the Knights of Columbus- Archbishop Francis P Keough Council #5263-Odenton)
• Paint Night, Sight and Sound Bus Trip, Christmas Cookie Sale and Casserole Night
